I think this is my 3rd post regarding Trump since starting this blog. I’m not politically minded at all and I certainly don’t have daggers for him as such. He does however make me a bit nervous. But anyway, he certainly makes a good subject for illustrators and artists alike.
Over the weekend, Der Spiegel, a German magazine came under fire for the above illustration with the German vice-president of the European Parliament calling the piece “tasteless”. For the illustrator, Edel Rodriguez, the image represented “the beheading of democracy”. The BBC writes:
Mr Rodriguez, who arrived in the US as a political refugee from Cuba in 1980 told the Washington Post that he wanted to make a comparison between the Islamic State and Donald Trump, saying “both sides are extremists”.
